Cocoa was a perpetual worrier when she was first found at one of the industrial estates. Being out in the harsh environment had probably made her rather shy and timid, not to mention the unpleasant experiences she must have gone through.
But her gentle and quiet demeanour gave us the hope that she would be able to be in a nice, cosy home filled with love and affection, where her character will be more congruent with her environment. And so the quest began, to search for a loving home for her. It was not easy as she would duck from strangers with her tail in between her legs.
As always with fate and luck, a japanese couple took a liking to her. Just like Cocoa’s nature, Chiaki was as kind, gentle and affectionate and the couple liked her enough to work with her to overcome her insecurities.
Half a year down the road, Cocoa who has been renamed Ne Ne has blossomed into a beautiful canine amidst the rustic charm of their adobe in the east. She is bilingual now, as Alex and Chiaki have been teaching her commands in both english and japanese !
Though she is still afraid of strangers, she would follow Chiaki around the house like a shadow, and we could see the strong bond that has developed between them
Chiaki and Alex take it all in their stride, and their outpouring of love and affection is unconditional.
To see her loved and protected by this kind and lovely couple and to see Ne Ne return that love is something that all the less fortunate canines should have a chance to experience and we hope more people would step forward to partake of this wonderful and uplifiting experience !
